About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Laboratory Technician to join our team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain hands-on experience in mechanical testing, material analysis, and dimensional inspections. Comprehensive training will be provided, enabling you to develop technical expertise in machinery operation, data analysis, and compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Machinery Operation and Testing:

  • Learn and operate specialized machinery for testing the suitability of mechanical fasteners.

  • Use hardness testing equipment, tensile testing machinery, wire eroding machines, and Charpy impact testing equipment.

  • Conduct material and mechanical tests and interpret the results under supervision.

2. Material Analysis:

  • Operate an Optical Emission Spectrometer for the chemical analysis of various grades of steel.

  • Ensure accurate identification and reporting of material properties.

3. Dimensional and Mechanical Inspections:

  • Perform dimensional and mechanical checks on a wide range of fasteners.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records using Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Verify compliance with relevant standards and specifications.

4. Quality Documentation:

  • Ensure all testing data and results are documented appropriately.

  • Collaborate with the team to review results for accuracy and adherence to industry standards.

    Skills and Qualifications

    Essential:

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills.

    Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a technical or laboratory environment (advantageous but not required).

  • Knowledge of fasteners, materials, or quality testing procedures.

  • A background in engineering, manufacturing, or material sciences.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and record-keeping.
